Super Kill 1

The Supers were a government program to exploit exceptional humans for military and law enforcement purposes. They started with males first and later cultivated females initially to entertain the males and then as Supers in their own rights. 

The females eventually realized they played second best to the inferior members of the species. They realized their inherent speed, stealth, and agility could be exploited far more than the men's strength and toughness. They also added technology to their abilities, something the males were to arrogant to do until it was far too late for them.

After a highly destructive internal war in which many regular civilians were killed, the government stepped in and demanded the Supers find another way to dominate one another. So weekly, the males and females would duel one another for dominance in an abandoned part of the city. After a short period of time, the males realized they were simply going to their own deaths when they took on their female counterparts, but it was too late. The sacrifice of one saved the rest and bought them (they believed) time to counter the humiliation and mortal threat.
